Grounding meditation

The grounding meditation strengthens our connection to Mother Earth.  We get anchored and nourished by the earth as we go about our daily activities.

Sit in a straight back chair, place feet flat on the floor, and close your eyes.  Notice your breathing, breathe from your belly, notice your belly expand with every in-breath, and contract with every out-breath.  Continue to breath in this manner.  Now in your mind’s eye imagine a cord of light from the base of your spine extending down to the heart of the Earth. Follow this cord in your imagination from the base of your spine down into the earth, traveling down through the soil, rocks, underground rivers, minerals, until the cord reaches the molten center, the core of the earth and gets anchored.

Do this simple meditation in the mornings and know that this cord keeps you solidly anchored and connected to the Planet, so that you will not be swayed by the push and pull of discord around you.
